Continua la fortunata serie di uscite Sonix, che inaugura così il 2003 con la sua decima pubblicazione, che anche questa volta vede i padroni di casa, Aquasky, in accoppiata con altri artisti, in questo caso Sketch & Code, non nuovi anch'essi ad uscite sotto l'egida della label di Birmingham.
Il lato A, appannaggio di Aquasky, vede un prepotente ritorno al tracciato di derivazione hardcore, con un campione di chiara matrice old school a fare da fulcro per il brano, tra stab di synth e vocals femminili sapientemente arrangiati su una ritmica rotolante e caricata al punto giusto dai bassi sub: "Blow your mind" preme sull'accelleratore, non dimenticando però il lato funk della dancehall, dando vita ad un crescendo suggestivo e di sicuro effetto, giocando sull'interazione tra le reminescenze old style degli stabs e i breakdown.
Decisamente di sapore più tecnoide la flipside ad opera di Sketch & Code, che impostano il perno del brano su una gommosa e vorticante bassline, innestata su una ritmica che non lascia respiro all'ascoltatore: "Warrior" tiene fede al suo stesso nome, aggredendo senza lasciare scampo, partendo in maniera allucinata con il basso che cresce nervoso, aprendo su un campione vocale parlato inquietante, e infine prorompendo in full effect. Doppio gusto, alta qualità.

The lucky Sonix saga goes on, opening in 2003 with its 10th release, even this time seeing the hosts themselves, Aquasky, coupled with other artists, in this vinyl Sketch & Code, not newbies themselves for releases under the Sonix logo.
Side A, by Aquasky, sees an impressive return towards the oldschool path, with a sample of clear old-style matrix as corner-stone of the track, between synth stabs and female vocals, wisely arranged on a rolling and subbass-loaded rhythm: “Blow your mind” push on the boost button, though not forgetting the funk dancehall side, giving life to a suggestive and surely impressive crescendo, playing on the interaction between the old style reminiscences of the stabs and the breakdowns.
With no doubt more technoid the flipside by Sketch & Code, that set the pin on a gummy and whirling bassline, injected on a rhythm that keep away the breath to the listener: “Warrior” is faithful to its own name, assaulting with no mercy, starting in a smokey atmosphere with the nervous bassline pressing more and more, opening on a spoken vocal sample, and then blowing up in full effect. Double taste vinyl, high quality.
