ARTHUR BAKER - Real fukin noise (Total Science remix)

Arthur Baker sta vivendo una nuova onda di (meritata) notorietà soprattutto grazie agli omaggi e alla collaborazione della scena breakbeat inglese, dove, d'altronde, lo storico produttore statunitense sembra ormai essersi stabilito in maniera definitiva.
Ovviamente non potevano mancare versioni iniettate di drum'n'bass nel contesto dei remix: ed ecco, infatti, un rifacimento in chiave junglistica di "Real fukin noise" da parte di Total Science.
Il restyling operato da Total Science conta sicuramente sul campione chiave del pezzo come architrave, ma, a parte questo, si sviluppa nei canoni, a noi ben noti e graditi, della maggior parte delle produzioni del duo inglese: richiami oldschool a bizzeffe prima di tutto, a cominciare proprio dal consueto smodato uso di breaks nel costruire la ritmica. "Real fukin noise" abbonda in questo senso, giocando a rimbalzare sul ritmo attraverso le due gorgoglianti bassline, che poggiano su un'ispida ritmica, filtrata a dovere e programmata con la consueta tagliente precisione. Un buon remix fuor di dubbio, e, anche se non è un pezzo completamente firmato dal duo, non sfigurerebbe assolutamente come lato A di qualche loro produzione su singolo. Thumbs up.

Arthur Baker is living at the moment a new wave of (deserved) popularity due, most of all, to the homages and to the collaborations of the english breakbeat scene, where, as well, he moved most likely to stay definitively.
Of course, some drum'n'bass injected versions couldn't miss in such context: here is, in fact, a new version of "Real fukin noise" in a junglistic key signed by Total Science.
Total Science' restyling counts with no doubt on the main sample of the track as cornerstone, but, apart from that, moves towards the features, well known and appreciated by us, used on most of the duo's productions: oldschool hookups a go go, first of all for the usual large "abuse" of breaks while building the rhythms section. "Real fukin noise" goes largely in such direction, playing to bounce on the rhythm through the two gurgling basslines, well injected on a harsh rhythm, filtered as due and programmed with the usual cutting sharpness. A good remix with no doubt, and, even not being a track totally signed by the duo, it wouldn't be out of place as A side of some of their productions on single. Thumbs up.
