SOCIAL SECURITY ft CHILD SUPPORT - Alien vs Predator / The feel good factor

Produttori emergenti alla ribalta su etichetta Deep Structure: Social Security, con la collaborazione di Child Support, è un duo di produttori e DJ londinesi che ultimamente presenzia un po' ovunque nelle nuove uscite di molte label britanniche (Trouble On Vinyl, Emotif e Creative Source saranno tra le prossime a pubblicare singoli dei due produttori).
Il suono delle due tracce contenute, un po' sorprendentemente, visto che la Deep Structure abitualmente percorre sentieri decisamente più caldi e influenzati dal funk, è aggressivo e futuristico senza mai scadere nella violenza gratuita.
"Alien vs Predator" (gran titolo nel giudizio di un vorace consumatore di fumetti) è un roller percussivo dove sub bassi distorti e loop percussivi creano le fondamenta per un brano tiratissimo e ossessivo, soprattutto grazie ad un uso smodato di lisergici drones rave-eggianti.
"The feel good factor" segue anche più marcatamente l'ispirazione back-in-the-days, innestando ampie dosi di effetti su vocals femminili e adornando il tutto di stabs nel più limpido stile hardcore, mentre una ritmica squadrata e frastagliata da ritagli di amen break spinge incessante il continuo incrociarsi delle acide bassline, per un brano di chiari riferimenti oldschool.
Entrambi i brani sono di ottima fattura, ma il carattere dubby e percussivo della prima (oltre al titolo…) ce la fanno sicuramente preferire. Anche alla Deep Structure sanno picchiare duro, e, cosa fondamentale, con qualità.

The sound of the tracks, slightly amazingly, as Deep Structure generally moves on warmer and funky-er territories, is aggressive and futuristic without ever wasting violence for free.
"Alien vs Predator" (great title in the opinion of a ever-hungry comics reader) is a percussive roller where distorted sub basses and percussive loops create the basement for a frantic and obsessive track, most of all thanks to a large use of lysergic ravey drones.
"The feel good factor" follows even more clearly the back-in-the-days inspiration, injecting heavy doses of effects on female vocals and decorating everything with stabs in the clearest hardcore style, while a square rhythms loaded with amen break snippets push endlessly the continuous crossing of the acid basslines, for a track with explicit oldschool hookups.
Both the tracks are very well crafted in terms of production, but the dubby and percussive style of the former one (apart from the title...) force us to prefer that one on the couple. Even at Deep Structure knows how to hit hard, and, most important thing, with quality.
