Italian version asap

Hi Carl. here it's 20.09 pm (a slide guitar is sounding)... it's really cold! what's goin' on there??? hi Vito! here it's 20.50 pm (a heater is sounding) and it's also very very cold ;) hmm, that's about it!

I've still heared your last album published by +b+mo... pure audio pleasure! compliments! let's start chalking about a so "mysterious" title...  the conceptual world is losing its grip! why have  you chosen a similar title? and what about your equipment?
the title was choosen in a sort of random way, i had written the "philosophical rant" a few months before i named the title track. i finished the track and was thinking about a title and i picked up my notebook where the rant was stored, i read it and the phrase "the conceptual world is losing its grip" just stuck out from the rest, so when the record came out i found it appropriate to include the rant in the liner. the equipment used was a dos-based computer program called "impulse tracker" it was released in (around) 1994 i beleive and was based on a former tracker called "screamtracker". it's a freeware program no more than 500k in size. i was a big computer nerd back in the days and called alot of bulliten board services (bbs) my interest in computer music grew out of my interest in computers, and my involvement in the "ansi art scene" (an international network of computer nerds like myself who developed complicated graphics out of plain-text and colored ASCII characters) I downloaded my first tracker at age 13 (modedit, a 4-channel tracker), and have been pretty much hooked since then.

in the booklet there's a short explanation with  a deep philosophical  reflection... what did you mean when speaking about  "halos of awareness"? i guess the simplist and most universal explanation would be the "aura", or "energy field", or "egg of luminosity", whatever people have named it with the human capacity to reason the unexplainable. i beleive it to be as real as the body, and as, if not more, important. i think alot of the pain and suffering in this world could be alleviated through the realization that we are all connected through this energy, and all
the units make a whole, there is no personal, or i, just a mass of energy that beleives itself to be seperate from everything else through social conditioning taught to us from the moment of birth
through authoritary figures.

do you believe in the explosion of thinking, communication and language  as deriving from a conceptual crisis? so is the future looking so grey? i wouldn't nessasarily call it a crisis, i beleive that everything happens for a reason, and i beleive we are definately going through some "tough times" right now, but i still beleive the outcome is up to us. we are responsible for reality in the fact that we create it with our thoughts and feelings, and i beleive if enough people realize that to its full extent we can make the world any way we like. so in that sense i beleive that we are at a point to fully test our potential, the final stage of a beautiful play, were the outcome is chosen by a collective concensus. i think there will be some exciting events taking place in the near near future, and while they might not all be plesant or easy to swallow, they lead in the correct direction. so in other words, i feel that the explosion of thinking, communication, and language are all just a part of the plan, but we have reached the point where a reversed attitude about them must come about, we need to learn to think ourselves out of our thinking, to communicate out of our communications, and stop repeating our routines to ourselves with our language day in and day out, we have forgotten the other side of ourselves, our only outlet to that world is our dreams.

let's speak about music... are there any privileged records among your  inspirational ground? i have had many works inspire me over the years, some artists that instantly come to mind would be (and i'm sure this is a bit evident in the recordings) aphex twin, squarepusher, etc. etc. (aka- basically the whole warp label), one of my first introductions to the more ambient/experimental side of music (other than the bbs tracker scene) was probally future sound of london, so they were a heavy inspiration, spacetime continumn, plaid/theblackdog, theorb, higher intellegence agency, global commincations has written much of my favorite music (such a great feeling in my head is produced) bjork (loved it since debut (and even the sugarcubes ;).. and i love how she is evolving (ie her work with matmos) ..) mu-ziq, 777, irresitable force, orbital was a big influence in my early years. alot of the drum and bass some of my favorites being photek, ltj buken, etc. alot of ninja tune/shadow records trip-hop, portishead, an early influence being a tape a french exchange student we were hosting when i was in elementary school gave me by jean-micheal jarre, late 80's-early 90's hiphop one in particular being 3rd bass. and recently the philly
experimental scene has been an influence as well.

could your music be considered as a projection  of your perceptions? i would say it could. i don't really feel as if i do anything when i write music, it seems more like the music uses me as a vehicle to be written. i just press the keys and in the end there is a song.

no rose without a torn... what a fitted adagio for artistical blooding!  do you agree with it? yes, there is always forces that balance out nature, so with any "good" there is always a "bad", and with every "bad" there is always a "good", and often what is perceived as "bad" in the long run is what is good and vice-versa. all one can do really is live life to the fullest while it is there to be lived without putting your feelings or attitudes onto it, so mabye the thorn can be enjoyed and celebrated with the same fevor.

focus on the effects of technology to mankind evolution is one of the "memetical" feature of tbtmo. so... in you opinion, could technology  (computers above all) be considered as a real improvement for mankind? i think the proper use of technology is a definate plus for mankind, the problem being that mankind has never used there power for improvement of mankind but rather for the profit of there own already fat wallets. computers can have whatever effect you like them to have, you can use them to enrich yourself, and to enrich your creative possibilities. they are a tool that "as much as possible in the present time" allows you to "time travel", and provide almost limitless possiblities for manipulation of reality. it seems that most people who own computers use them for about 0.01% of what you can possibly do with it.

what's your favourite versemonger (if there's any)? versemonger? is that singer? or poet? or author? ummm, how about all of them, i dug the cure back in the day, hmmrrmm?, poet? poetry never really stuck w/ me. author - i'm a big fan of the books by Carlos Castaneda about his studies with a yaqui indian "brujo" or shaman "don juan matus" in mexico in the
60's-70's.

any audioroadwork ahead for the future? :) well, since "the conceptual world is losing its grip" the double cd "pyrite" was released on tbtmo, and i've self released 11 records on my own "noisy.vagabond.recordingz" cd-r diy label. 2 of those releases are available on the net for download. a.> transient - flicker 11 tracks in their virgin (.it) format played with modplug player (modplug.com) 12.7megs ftp.scene.org/pub/music/artists/transient/ts-flckr.zip b.> transient - prayers mp3ep a chillist slightly beatless 5 track ep available @ www.observatoryonline.org the three releases since the online releases are 1.> transient - white blazes (nvr009) a record i tracked on a laptop while hiking on the appalachian trail between south virginia and the maine border. filling the battery power from stores, resturaunts, etc. 2.> transient - future jazz played under water (nvr010) chill trip-hop i've record since being home from
hiking 3.> transient - flying saucer ep (nvr011) 4x4 experiments also recorded since i've been home. which are all available @ www.tbtmo.com/nvr and i'm still recording, the tracks i'm working on now are a collection of tunes with samples mostly taken from random tv shows and small clips of music. not very sure were i'm going with it yet, but what i have so far i'm enjoying. expect the usual 4-6 cd's of music for 2003 ;) ...
