Hi folks. How are you? Hi, we are fine and you?

I' ve read the way you met Lulu -so lovely leatherette!-... But... I didn' t know vomit could be so important for evaluating the voice in a band! J It's fundamental! eh eh

A lot of productions are definid as clash. What do you think about this adjective? It's not important how do you define things, it's limiting for what is behind... There's nothing new, just ideas, different influences and kinds of music all mixed up.

Even if a bit hidden, how do you consider the contribute by BNTMRC77 and Dee-Yevotchka? They are videoartists and they produce the video-art-clips those are played in loop and mixed together during our live shows. They would like to join music and stage performances to images.

From the stylistical viewpoint, you look more inspired by Berlin scene, than London one, don't you? Yeah, we are. We are because Berlin at the moment is the real cradle of the European electro music movement, is really full of ferments. While London, even if it's amazing as well, is still too much related to the 90's culture and lifestyle.

Lulu, what's your mood while singing Man In Make Up? Well... "Man In Make Up" reflects a parenthesis of my adolescence, when I didn't know myself at all, I needed to try everything and discover who I really am and I had an experience with a girl of my same age. My mood is quite nostalgic, not just for that experience itself, but more for my mood in my teens, I was so restless and curious to try everything, to check everything out, so excited to descover myself with all my contradictions. and to dye my hair!! besides, I tryed to keep in the song that anger, introverted and explosive, that characterized

What's your favourite track? Why? Lulu: My favourite track is Plastic Divas, expecially for the lyric, that I wrote in a particular moment. It was.. 1998. Fuck!! Am I so old?! Joe: I love all the songs... but maybe my favorite is Man in Make Up because I really love the result of mixing together electro and grunge. Jack: My favorite is Black Leather because it's pop full of melody, it's new wave, it's italo-disco... It's a collision of styles and emotions.

You cite some items which are considered as icons of the way for expressing transgression. But with a poppy attitude... Any ironic intent behind that? Lulu: of course is ironical! I really hope that nobody thinks that I spontaneously and seriously sing like an horney Britney or Jessica!! I always liked to make fun of the icons and the stereotypes of trasgression and society, and I always liked to make fun of myself.

Two really interesting collaborations: the one with Motel Connection and that with Marco Mancassola. What about those? Motel Connection support us almost since the beginning and it was a pleasure that Pisti and Marco Bertoni wanted to co-produce "Botoxxx", about Marco we're met speaking of music and now we're good friend. We think that his art is really suitable to our art so we tried to make a song together.

In your opinion, what's the ultimate transgression? Oh! What a question! Getting married for real love? Or remaining virgin for all life?

Why did you call your project The Magicake? There is the innocence of the grandmama's pie, but also something disturbing and hallucinating.. like our music: in appearance a bit "naif", but that hides acid shadings.

Are you planning a tour in Italy? Sure, we're preparing it, you can see the dates shortly in our website www.themagicake.com xxx
