Hi Kristen. How are you? Fantastic. And you (nice English)

Not so bad, thanks. First of all, compliments to your ligaments! How much time before that contortion on the cover? : I've been doing yoga for a long time and I wasn't born flexible so, you're right it took me quite awhile to learn that one. It's called Urdhva Dhanurasana in sanscrit.

Compliments for your album, too! Nothing (brand) new from the stylistical viewpoint, in my viewpoint, but it's well balanced and you have a great voice. It's a difficult question, I know, but did your relation to music change during your life? Fortunately everything changes, so yes, so has my relation to music. Before I learned to play guitar listening to music was at the center of my life to accompany my emotions and bring me through different phases of my life, when I learned how to play guitar and began composing I stopped listening to anything for almost 2 years. It was strange and often I worried about it but now that my album is done I realize it was a necessary step in my creativity. The album may have nothing brand new but I ask you… what is new these days? I guess Peaches was new. Only our own personal interpretation of our lives can really be new anymore. Thanks for the compliment on the voice but I know it's a totally normal voice… I love to sing so I just go with it.

In music and maybe in art, almost everyone generally try to transgress nowadays. What about you? Transgression. Well, yes definitely. I'm trying hard to stick to a good value system and to live by the principals of love. I try to concentrate on abundance rather than want, to embrace change and surpass my old confines, to react with kindness before reason and look for answers with my intuition before my intellect… I think these things are a big transgression in our society today. I also find them hard to do… but I try.

Listening a track like "Break your TV" could look like a paradox... if sung by someone who treaded the stage... let's say so! Ehm you know it looks like those whores speaking about chastity, religious revelation, mirages or similar "revolutions"... : Paradox is my favourite. Paradox sets us free. I don't think I have any 'absolutes' in my life besides my certainty that love will always provide me with answers.

What a strange coincidence... Feel Tonight impressed me for different reasons... Just oput of curiosity. What about the addressee of that song (if there's any specific addressee)? A person which stopped dreaming or not? Not at all, it's a bit of a paradox as well. It's about dreaming but at the same time becoming conscious, aware of who you really are. Embracing both the light and dark parts of yourself, admitting your limits but also loving your victories.

In a way, I'm a globetrotter, too. But I generally don't symphatize with thieves, except Robin Hood maybe... : Any personal experience in the lyrics of "lover of thieves"? No one ever 'stole' your heart?... Many different experiences rolled into one song to march ahead and thank life.

Love in Kristen Grove words....Words are a poor means of expressing love but I can tell you how I think it is manifested… I think it's as simple as the trees that stand around for years and years, always constant, cleaning our air, helping us breath…as complex as letting go of a desired outcome and trusting in divine perfection. I think it's easier seen when we are thankful for everything and recognize the abundance in our simple or complex lives. I think love is unbelievable and I love to let if fill me up.

Kristen Grove in Kristen Grove words...I have a book called ‚Goddesses in Everywoman' by Jean Shinoda Bolen, M.D. in it she explains the different archetypes for different women as seen through the greek and roman mythical female figures. I've been trying hard to hone it down to one archetype. So far I'm stuck with a combination of Artemis, Athena and Aphrodite…at least they all start with A. (she also wrote "Gods in Everyman" if you want to check it out for yourself, pretty interesting)

Do you know a song called Part Time Punks by Television Pesonalities? No, but I know What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding by Elvis Costello.

What about your musical background and likes? The greats for sure: Neil, Rolling Stones, Garland Jeffries, The Band, Marley, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, The Cars etc. plus I really like African and Brazilian music; Ali Farka, Gigi, Cesaria Evora, Caetano, Gil etc. Rock is currently my least favourite but I'm in love with Jack Johnson (for real) and I like Bloc Party and admire Peaches. I can even get into Kruder and Dorfmiester if the mood is right. I think Metal would be the only thing I would really say NO to.

Any particular episode (better if funny) related to the development of "The Gate Is Open"? not really Thank you Vito that was fun!!!! Xoxo
