Hi Chris. First of all, how are you? Thanks, I'm fine, a little tired from touring a lot with swedish singer Freddie Wadling this fall and working in the studio a lot, but I'm OK!

Finally your first album... Could you tell us something about it? Well... it's the first album and I'm really proud of it still. It sort of sums up what was going on for me at that time.

In spite of your "tender" age, you're already considered one of the most original musician in the so-called nujazz scenario... As generally musicians of that area tends to be falsely modest... do you think this opinion is not so suitable? First of all, my age has nothing to do with it. I mean, I have 10 years of experiance as a dj, and 8 years of electronic music production behind me, so... I was lucky to find my thing at an early point. I've always been around an into music.

You also remixed Morricone, didn't you? Yes, I did two remixes for Compost's Morricone remixed compilations. I'm really proud of those remixes, especially "the Good the Bad and the Ugly". I rented the movie and built the arrangement around the story. I had some vocal samples I couldn't keep in the final mix though; first there were the steps in the intro I had to change to some other ones, then in the first break Clint says "...Your spurs... BANG!". And then "In this world there are two kinds of people my friend. Those with loaded guns..... and those who dig." Then I took the word "DIG!" from where the Ugly digs his own grave. That's the music scene in a nutshell. Or in a bulletshell :) and "Every gun makes it's own tune... Perfect timing large man" and then the Ugly says something I don't remember and then there'se the ricochet drum solo. But I couldn't keep any of that. Copyright reasons.

Are you preparing a show? What about your live equipment? Any jump on our peninsula (Italy)? I've done lots of shows! Me and Yukimi have been in Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Finland, Italy, Japan, the US... I also put together a full 7 piece band that played in Sweden and Japan. But now we're not touring anymore, I'm doing some djing, but i'm mostly working in the studio on new stuff.

White is the colour of purity. Is that the reason you (or others for you) chose that photo as a cover for your debut album? The cover photo was shot only to be used on the cover. It's shot in a gallery in Gothenburg. I was a part of the roster of the gallery and participated in a compilated exhibition there.

Any work in progress? Lots and lots. I am working on some domestic productions, I'm starting up a label, writing songs for the next album for DNM... Some personal sideprojects... Touring with this singer... Going to produce and album for a Japanese artist in december... So i'm keeping myself busy.

The poem you liked most... I'd have to say Prologue by Thomas Transtromer. I think he's the most translated Swedish poet, so you might be able to look it up, I only know it in Swedish. It's the first one one the first page of his first compilation. My favourit phrazes are (roughly thanslated) "The awakening is a parachute jump from the dream..." and "Sometimes the concience can grasp the world / Like the hand closes around a sunwarm stone"

The song of your album you liked most... Couldn't say... I feel strongly about the words in "I love you my Hope"... And "Moving on"... But it's all best when you listen to the whole album.

If a stranger should stop you asking what nu jazz is... Nu Jazz is a genre invented by journalists to be able to put some music in a neat little box.

Any people which considerably helped you during your artistic and musical growth? Mom & Dad, Andreas, Paul, Jonatan, Yukimi, Magnus... Everyone and everything...

If you should choose a synthetic image (or even just a colour) to describe your sound... I'm more inspired by natural images, like standing by the ocean or on a mountain and just watching. Natural flows and couses of events.

A lot of musicians spreading "nu-jazz" tunes comes from Scandinavian countries.. in your opinion, is there any particular reason for it? There's a lot of good musicians and producers here.

Kindest regards Thanks Vito!
