Faze Action I-view

Abbiamo recentemente presentato il loro nuovo disco "Broad Souls". E incuriositi da quello che ci sembrava essere un'ottima riproposizione di sonorità anni '80 (quelle migliori), abbiamo fatto recapitare qualche domandina ai fratelli Lee, aka Faze Action, e si scopre che dietro quella cover c'è Tom Hingston (lo stesso che ha pensato la copertina di Mezzanine dei Massive Attack, conosciuto probabilmente alla Nuphonic, l'etichetta fondata da David Hill e Savash Remzi che per lungo tempo ha prodotto i fratelli Lee) o una non meglio identificabile affezione per lo gnosticismo. Ad ogni modo il loro disco è ben suonato. Presto saranno in Italia.

Hi Lee brothers. How are you? Fine thank you and you?

Very good, thanks. We appreciated your album. One of the reasons is the "reviving" of some "forgotten" eighties sounds. Why did you make this stylistical choice? To be honest it is more late sixties and early seventies but if you can hear some eighties in there then that is fine with us.

Nice that girl on the cover rounded by birds -a metaphor for artists?-. Where did you grab that image? We came up with ten words to describe our music and then gave them to the album designer Tom Hingston who suggested the illustrator.

What about your spirituality? It's all there in the songs on Broad Souls, if you listen carefully.

And what about your philosophical approach? Thou shalt follow the divine path of the cosmos to the forgotten world of elixir.

After this album, are you goin' to continue your activity as remixers? What's brewing? Yes we will be continuing doing the remixes. But we are currently working on our 4th album. That is what is brewing at the moment.

What's the origin of Faze Action denomination? If a record is good then it is good and it doesn't matter what genre it is supposed to be from. We like to make records that reflect this idea.

What do you think about Krautrock? For what regards 80's, truth (or murder) is goin' to will out... or what? We don't listen to Krautrock very often, only Niagara. For the rest of your question…… mmmmm….. true.

Are you planning a tour? Yes we are currently preparing ourselves for a South East Asian tour in July and the Big Chill in August in the UK and we hope to be in Italy in September/October 2004!
