Buona lettura. According to our opinion, Soulhack is one of the most interesting album released in the last years. Why do you deny the belonging to the so-called nujazz movement? Because most nujazz is too laid-back, too cheesy. Nujazz is often 'jazzy' but it's still not jazz. I want to make intense music that keeps the listener interested through out the song... What are your “masters” in music?
In electronic music, I've come to respect the works of Jesper Dahlbäck,
Photek and Aphex Twin among many others...
I also listen a lot to other music - modern classical and jazz. E.g.
Arvo Pärt, Schnittke and Eero Koivistoinen.
Among your favourites, Cantus in memoriam Benjamin Britten – Fratres,a record by ARVO PÄRT, partially inspired by Benjamin Britten. His famous War Requiem should be recovered in our opinion as proper to our history. Do you share his position on the wickedness of war? The short answer is yes :) Do you like Bartok? Yes :) What about your collaboration with Rich Medina? Is there a personal imprint on Journeyman? We did long conversations over the phone and over email, but he wrote and recorded the poem in the end. Basically he describes my journey through europe, that i did when i did my album... WASP What an allusive sign for that Web Standards... not sure what you mean by this..? Web standards are needed, so that the Internet experience can improve from it's rather miserable state of today... What’s your position on actual copyright laws?
I think the fully-copyrighted-by-default situation is pretty bad. What
we need is a default-to-no-copyright and more flexible simple-to-use
licenses like the ones provided by creativecommons.org.
What’s the weather like in the place you’re pushing buttons? What can you see from the window outside? I am now in berlin on a short visit, doing an art business/performance project called 24 Hour Dotcom. It's dark outside and I can hear the rain clatter on the window... Any work in progress? I've just started producing again. New setup, new tools, new inspiration. now let's see if this will lead to something... |
