Dopo Koolmotor e Kinkynasti, giunge il terzo disco dei Five Deez, il cui titolo non poteva che cominciare per K. Kommunicator è per il collettivo di Cincinnati (da tempo operante a Berlino) l'album della "chiarificazione". Tutto o quasi tutto dei loro statement stilistici dovrebbe essere risolto, stando ai loro intenti, e per una band che ha fatto della ricerca stilistica il proprio stendardo -facendone guadagnare meritati consensi nella scena hip hop internazionale maggiormente slegata alle disdicevoli elaborazioni degli esperti di marketing delle major (avete ancora qualche dubbio riguardo la provenienza dell'osannato Eminem???)- questo disco acquisisce una particolare importanza, così come per chi li segue dai loro primi passi. I'm just listening your report from the fifth dimension... Some tracks reminds me some contemporary acts (in particular some workouts by LTJ Bukem and A Guy Called Gerald). Any other character in that dimension? I'm not sure. I don't think it really sounds like anything else that's out there!!!!

What about the previous four dimensions? They still exist but each person has to find their own way to travel there. Once you're there, you'll understand the rest.

Speaking about Kommunicator, you said ?It?s definitely not a rap record?. Could you explain the sense of this declaration to our readers? This album is not like anything you'll hear on the radio's top 40 list. It's something different. It's meant to be something else. It incorporates rap ideas and hip hop fundementals but uses them in a different way to create a different sound for a hip hop record.

Berlin looks like a great musical laboratory nowadays. What about the influence of the general atmosphere a musican can breathe there in Kommunicator? Berlin is a crazy place with a lot of crazy people. We just feed off the energy that's in the city. be

What's your theory on communication in general? Any boundaries to cross yet? With the advent of technology, people will eventually begin to actually "speak" less and less with each other. They will use text messaging or e-mails whcih make communication easier (in the technical sense) but will re-define how humans communicate (in the traditional sense).

What are the main problems to solve in order to represent by a live show the idea behind Kommunicator? Kommunicator would best be performed live with a band and a lot of electronics on stage but that won't happen so we'll put it all together with some turntables and some mics and some computers.

How did you land on Rapster planet? Rapster planet and K7 planet are the same planet.

The first hip hop band labelled by K7... A record to be proud of... I think so too...but i think it really confused a lot of people. some people didn't understand why but i think "Kommunicator" may explain.
